If you are not on automatic delivery, it is best if you call when your tank is around 1/4 full, or 1/4-1/2 in the coldest months. This ensures both the well-being of your oil tank, and that you will not run out of oil in the unusual circumstance that we are unable to deliver to you by the next day (i.e., in inclement weather).

Preferred Oil is an oil delivery company; we do not provide a service contract. However, we are affiliated with Tom Bosse of Bosse Heating and Cooling. Their company is located in Plantsville, CT (part of Southington), right over the town line from Cheshire. We have hundreds of satisfied customers ranging from 100 gal. minimum drops to several thousand gallons every three weeks. Types of Payment Accepted

WE accept cash, personal checks, business checks, money orders, and Visa or MasterCard payments. We do not accept American Express or Discover cards. If you are submitting an online request, we will call to confirm your information, and we will also ask you to confirm your method of payment. Confirmation of payment equals confirmation of delivery! Your online request will not be delivered in payment has not been confirmed by phone. If you are not paying by credit card over the phone, you must leave a payment at the delivery site for the driver to pick up.

Payment for COD Delivery

Our policy states that all oil deliveries must be paid either in advance or upon delivery (COD). If you are paying COD we must have a credit card number on file for security. If you confirm with the office staff that you are paying COD and the driver does not find payment at the delivery site, we reserve the right to refuse delivery. 

Most of our deliveries are made on a COD basis. In this case, payment is expected upon delivery. We accept cash, personal checks, MasterCard, and VISA. The driver cannot process credit card payments; you must call the number in to the office at (203) 250-1030. Payments can also be made in person at the office before delivery. We do also provide automatic delivery for non-prepaid customers. In this case, since you may not know in advance when the deliveries will be made, payment is expected within one week of delivery. It is best, if you are not on automatic delivery, to call when your tank is 1/4 full, or 1/4-1/2 in the coldest months.
We do not send out bills or statements; our goal is to reduce our costs and thereby keep our oil prices as low as possible. To reach this goal, we try our vest to enforce our COD policies. Payment for Automatic Delivery

If you are on automatic delivery, our driver will not expect you to leave a check at the delivery site since you must likely will not know in advance when we will be delivering. In this case, we expect payment to be brought in or mailed to our office within one week of the delivery date. You can also provide us with a credit card number to be run automatically after delivery. With your authorization, we will charge the total amount of the delivery to your credit card directly after each delivery. If payments are consistently not received on time, we reserve the right to terminate automatic delivery.
